Hello Readers. My daughter passed this plaid tunic style shirt down to me. It is very soft and light weight. I really liked the plaid but the loose front made me look pregnant. That didn't make me feel very good so I decided to fix it.
It has a tie at the back to draw in the waist but it does nothing for the front. But I can use those ties in a different way.
Here is the shirt ironed and spread out. I don't need or want to change the shirt itself, just the waist ties.
I cut them off. I just got as close to the shirt as I could without cutting the shirt at all.
I connected the two pieces of the belt together with a few stitches and wrapped it around the waist and tied it in the front. I used my sewing machine but it would be a snap to do this by hand with a needle. Or just use a narrow belt and forget ties that came with the shirt.
I wore it to a dinner with friends. I was excited to get out of the house, as you can see. (I wasn't driving with no hands, I was at a stop sign.)
We went to a new Thai restaurant called Sumittra Thai Kitchen. It was some of the best food I have had in a long time. It was really amazing.
Thanks for reading, now go make something fun for yourself.
