Navy and Stripes Part 1

Hello Readers. Today's project is a T shirt makeover. I had this old men's T shirt, (Thanks Hubby!) It has a bold logo on it that I don't really like it. It has hung on my clothes rack waiting to be chosen. I took a long time to decide what to do with it. That logo had to go.

This shirt is baggy, masculine and athletic before. My athletic fitness level is "Slow and Weak". It is very stretchy and soft though. It will be very cozy when I am done.

First is the big cut. I removed the top portion with sleeves. Logo gone.

Excuse the fabric scraps on the floor. So messy! And is that a big ugly Croc shoe?

I used the bottom to make the body of my new shirt. It is just a straight fitted tube. I measured to see how big I needed it to be. The extra fabric I used to make straps. They are just two narrow tubes. All the edges are left unfinished.

I flipped the shirt upside down. The bottom hem is now the top of the shirt. It was an easy way to have a finished neckline. I angled the straps to cover my bra straps. I began by making the straps straight from front to back but really didn't want visible bra parts.

Here is the finished top. It is very comfortable. It has a nice fit for wearing under other shirts.

Other shirts like this. Here is a peek at tomorrow's post.

Thank you for reading, now go make something fun for yourself.

Oh, perfect timing! Thank you for this. I've been searching for cotton knit camisoles and having a hard time finding them second-hand (I refuse to buy new for something that's going to be under the rest of my clothes!). This will help me out.

So glad to hear your comment. I hate searching for things like that. Happy sewing to you.
