I Want a Shirt

 Hello Readers. I found this dress at a clothes swap and took it home because I loved the blue-green color. It was a casual tank top style dress. I didn't really want a dress, but I wanted a top in this color.

The dropped waist of this dress means it will be easy to cut the skirt off and make a tank top. Knit fabric like this does not fray so this will be easy to alter.  

I cut the dress about an inch above the waist seam. This only took a minute.

 

I stitched along the bottom of my new shirt with my serger. 

  

I used some multi-colored thread, just for fun. 

 

I liked the colored edge along the hem. 

 

I planned to tuck the shirt in these colorful striped pants anyway. The colorful hemline might not show, but I know it's there. And so do you! Thanks for reading along, now go make something fun for yourself.
