Fun Stripes

Hello Readers. Check out these wild, fun, striped pants. The light-weight gauzy cotton was perfect for summer. They did not fit well but I never let that stop me. Let's re-size these pants.

Before and after.

This fabric was so colorful. It was going to work with a ton of different tops. The sides needed to be taken in and the length was a bit long too. I could shorten them a little too.

What color thread should I use? I went with some multi colored thread because there was no one dominant color. And this thread is just a lot of fun.

I used my serger to cut and sew the new side seams at the same time. I like the serger because it does twice the work, twice as fast. I took a couple inches off each side by sewing from the waist to ankle on each side of the pants.

Once the pants were smaller, I did not need to hem the pant legs. Sometimes that happens. It's always best to correct the clothing in width and then length. Once clothes are tighter, they also seem shorter. I could grab almost any top I had and it seemed to match. That's going to make getting dressed in the morning easier. Thanks for reading along, now go make something fun for yourself.
