Thanks for your kind words. Go attack those clothes, you can do it. That is how I learned to sew too. I would try to alter items from the thrift store. I messed up a lot but i loved it. And the thrift store didn't cost too much so I didn't feel too bad when things didn't go according to plan. Happy Sewing!
ChickieI Can Work With Thathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12814891618062874836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2403862416667853222.post-16246914658108696752017-03-27T12:08:22.636-04:002017-03-27T12:08:22.636-04:00Hi there! Thank you!

I don't have any pictures for you, but I refashioned a plain sweater by adding three inset hearts across the chest (zig zagged around the edges, then the sweater cut away to reveal the hearts) and cropping the too-long sleeves and adding trim to match the hearts. It was my first refashion on a $5 sweater from Goodwill! THEN, I resized a too-large jersey shirt (with "Lukenbach, Texas" on it, $1.99, also Goodwill) by trimming sleeves and the torso - AND, I had a friend give me two pairs of jeans (for free!) that were too large in the legs, length and waist (but fit my rear!) that I shortened, cut off width AND took in the waistband. They aren't perfect, but only I will ever see the mistakes. :) Thank you for inspiring me to be brave and go for it!

This week, I am going to shorten a too short sweater dress to be a tunic I can wear with jeans. <3 mommy.in.austinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13855023940640365953noreply@blogger.com
